Dr. Sandip Soparrkar
Sandip Soparrkar (Dr. Sandip Soparrkar) is an Indian Latin and ballroom dancer, a Bollywood choreographer, an actor and a columnist who holds a Doctorate (Phd) in World Mythology Folklore from USA. He is a highly awarded dancer and choreographer who is the pioneer of ‘India Dance Week’, a dance platform that brings varied Indian and international dance forms together on one single platform. Sandip was born in Bhopal, second of the two children to Col Ajay Kumar and Rani Soparkar. His Grand Father Dr. K.M Soparkar was the first Gynaecologist in the Indian Army and his Great Grandfather Dr. M.B Soparkar had the honour of being the personal Doctor of Mahatma Gandhi, Vallabhbhai Patel and Morarji Desai.
His initiative ‘Dance for a Cause’ works tirelessly to raise funds and bring awareness and consciousness to various social issues and problems that are prevalent in the society at large. He has been honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Ballroom Dance Jewel’ by World Book of Records, Indo British Intellectuals Forum and the British Government at the House of Common, London, United Kingdom.
